From January 1st to April 30th, 2013, Les Bains-Douches became a temporary artistic residence. Under the leadership of the building’s owner, Jean-Pierre Marois, and with Magda Danysz acting as curator, free rein was given to street artists to express themselves within its walls before it closed for the extensive renovation project that birthed the Les Bains of today. This book documents the creativity of fifty urban artists who used the 3,000 m2 of this Haussmann-era building as their canvas. Artbomb, stencil, poster, photography, brush, sponge, chalk, jackhammer and installation, the repertoire is large, dazzling and dizzying.
